The golf courses

Planning battles 1989-2007

We first applied to convert part of Greys Green Farm into a golf course in 1989. As a result of bitter opposition from the parishes of Rotherfield Greys and Rotherfield Peppard and implacable opposition from South Oxfordshire District Council (SODC), there followed umpteen planning applications and two Public Inquiries (1991 and 2007). Finally, in 2007, the latest application was granted on Appeal at a Public Inquiry.
This cartoon appeared in a newspaper shortly after we got the news in 2007 that our Appeal had been successful. We rather liked it. Reproduced with permission, under licence from CartoonStock

Golf courses layout

This plan shows the current layout of the three golf courses available.
These are public golf courses (pay and play) only. Absolutely no members.
Furthermore, the public are free to walk (with their dogs) on permissive footpaths over the golf land. Absolutely no cyclists or horses

N.B: Permissive footpaths and bridleways are strictly by permission of the landowner (Alexander Hood) and no rights are created, implied or given to or by the public
